The Widow

Every time this girl wants to play in the backyard I first go and do my "inspections."

I'm on a hunt. I start kicking things over, turning them upside down.

Hmmm...this table looks harmless. On no...it's not.

I flip it over. Sure enough I find one of these lovely ladies lurking in the corner.

(click on her to see her in all her arachnid-glory)

Without fail I discover of these deadly chicas every time I go hunting.

So finally, I called one of these guys:

Hopefully soon we'll be seeing less of those eight-legged blood suckers.

When I saw your post title, I thought it was going to be something about Casey neglecting his husband duties. Ha ha.

That's ONE thing better about CO than CA--there's not that many bugs around, really. So what do you do when you find one of those things anyway?

Carly, that picture gave me the chills! I still have them. I have a HUGE spider phobia! Stupid me, I shouldn't have enlarged the picture...but it was so tempting :) Well I'm glad you finally called someone to get rid of those nasty things. Don't let any of those critters attack my cute nieces!

BAH - that freaks me out. I would have never thought about inspecting the backyard EVERY time!! What the heck? Who has time for that?

You're such a good mom!

Not sure if spiders actually suck blood. They just inject their poison right? I'm sure that makes you feel better. Dave will help you out. Yesterday he found a rattlesnake by the kitchen porch. You're forewarned.

WOW!!! I didn't even know black widows lived in California! We just have the little annoying ones. And we definitely don't get rattlers. Be careful!!!

That is the one thing about California, spiders, spiders and more spiders

EEEWWWW....I HATE those things. That is the one thing I don't miss about CA. OK and maybe the huge rattle snakes too. What do you do when you find it? If you are anything like me, you scream and then call the husband to come kill it.
