Getaway

Sisters!

Last weekend I left the girlies to see different girlies.

Beautiful cousin!

I was able to watch as my gorgeous cousin and her husband were sealed for time and all eternity. They looked so incredibly happy!

Don't bother trying to count the candles-just take my word for it: she's SUPER old.

We celebrated my sister's birthday!

There were some guys there. The not-so-crazy looking one on the right is my brother and he's smart, handsome, TALL and single.

My wonderful and hospitable sister in-law let us crash at her (and her hubby's of course) place and let us eat six...SIX entire bags of Cadbury Mini Eggs. Yeah we were there for 2 days...do the math.

Yes I know, it's hard to tell who the mother is in this picture, that's why we made her stand in the middle, so she wouldn't blend in so much.

I was able to hang out with five of my siblings (and one cute but serious little niece) whom I don't get to see very often. It was a lot of fun to just hang out and be together!

One of those days

Long story short: we're moving.

Finding an apartment in this town isn't an easy task. I'm sure finding apartments anywhere really kinda sucks unless you have money coming out of your ears. I sure don't. That would be weird.

So for the past few days I have had my eyes practically glued to the computer screen, searching, googling, clicking, sighing, gasping and being a very inattentive mommy.

Kids don't exactly love apartment hunting or being dragged through various different rentals. Wait, actually I think they do. They just don't like Mommy saying over and over, "Don't touch, leave that alone, let's go, don't take your shoes off, don't touch, leave that alone...." etc. Luckily one of my good friends offered to watch the girls this morning as I ran off to yet another "viewing."

I love our city. It's the city in which both hubby and I were born and raised. Our families are here and who can beat CA weather? I just wish the cost of living wasn't so ridiculous.

So to reward myself and my kids for an exhausting past few days with a few more ahead, I'm doing this:

C'mon...you know you want some.

Silly on a Saturday

Today is a rainy day.

And when it's rainy, we get silly.

Lil' Sis' is a ball of entertainment. She must be doing everything Diva is doing. No exceptions. Why do you think she's wearing a fairy dress?

As I type she is on my lap, smelling like sleep and old granola bars. She has an almost empty tube of lip gloss that she is smearing on everything but her lips. She's not an exceptionally verbal girl but has zero limitations in understanding what I say. She never says no to food. In fact, she says, "Yeah!" Her uncles like to ask her a slew of questions involving food just to hear her emphatically shout..."YEAH!"

My girlies are absolutely hilarious.

I laughed so hard at some of these pictures. Diva is always good for a giggle. When she visits her imaginary princess/barbie/fairy land she will inevitably be there for quite some time. She talks to her prince, calls Barbie on the phone, feeds her precious animals, dances with fairies and sometimes regulates. During breakfast this morning she was chattering excitedly on her play phone but apparently Barbie began annoying her with numerous calls and finally she picked up the phone and shouted, "Barbie! Ugh! Why are you calling me again?! I'm eating my cheercho's!"

She loves her closeups. I love them too. One of my favorite features on her face (besides her cute nose, lips, teeth and big eyes) are her eyebrows. I love love love them. Maybe that's weird but hey, I'm her mom. I'm supposed to love eyebrows.

I'm so grateful these little fireballs of fun are in my life. They can turn an ordinary, rainy, gloomy Saturday into precious moments that I will cherish forever!

She's getting married...

Well...you know...eventually.

Diva occasionally likes to talk about her wedding. And every time she does it turns out to be a pretty funny conversation:

Diva: "Mommy, am I going to get married?"

Me: "One day, yes but not for a long LONG time."

Diva: "Well, WHEN am I going to get married?"

Me (quickly trying to think of an acceptable age): "Um...24?"

Diva: "NO! WHEN am I going to get married?"
(apparently I'm not understanding her question)
Me: "Uh...um..I don't know?"

Diva: "*BIG SIGH* NO NO NO!...WHEN?!"
(I then realize she's probably trying to say...WHO)

Me: "Oh you mean...WHO are you going to marry?"
*Success!*
Diva: "Yes! Who am I going to marry?"
Me: "Well who do you want to marry?"

Diva: "Am I going to marry a man?"

Me: " Please!"

Diva: "I'm going to marry Ethan!" (little boy in Sunbeams)

Me: "That sounds great! What kind of food are you going to have at your wedding?"

Diva: "Chicken and rice and broccoli and soup."

Me: "Wow that sounds yummy!"

Diva: "And lollipops! Wait...no...just one lollipop...for ME!"

And you're all invited! Just don't expect any lollipops.

Aren't comics supposed to be funny?

Because this one really makes me want to cry.
